Exploring the Role of Interior Design in Addressing Generational Trauma

You are invited to participate in a research study that aims to explore how interior design can address the needs of Black womxn impacted by generational trauma. This study is conducted by E'lexis Brewer, a student at Savannah College of Art and Design. Your participation will help in understanding the potential of design to create supportive environments for healing and empowerment.

Study Requirements:
Participation in this study will involve:
- Completing a survey about your experiences and perceptions related to trauma and design.
- Potentially participating in an interview or focus group lasting approximately 15-30 minutes.
- Engaging in discussion about your ideas and suggestions for design interventions.

Withdrawal Statement:
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any time without any penalty. If you choose to withdraw, your data will not be used in the study.

Risk Statement:
While there are no known risks associated with this study, discussing personal experiences related to trauma may evoke emotional discomfort. You are encouraged to take breaks or discontinue your participation if you feel overwhelmed.

Benefits Statement:
Your involvement in this study may contribute to a better understanding of how interior design can support  Black womxn in addressing generational trauma, potentially leading to improved design practices and spaces that promote healing and empowerment.

Confidentiality/Anonymity Statement:
All information collected during this study will be kept confidential and will only be used for research purposes. Your identity will remain anonymous in any publications or presentations resulting from this research. Data will be stored securely and only accessible to the researcher.
