Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) refers to a type of artificial intelligence that has the cognitive capabilities, allowing it to understand, learn, adapt, and implement knowledge in a broad range of tasks. Unlike narrow artificial intelligence, which is designed to perform a specific task, such as recommending songs or processing an online order, AGI can apply intelligence to any problem through different products, services, and applications.
AGI is currently a futuristic concept, but many large tech companies are working on its development. Some experts believe that ChatGPT is a precursor to AGI. One of the goals of this research is to compare the sentiment of the general population with the sentiment expressed by large language models towards AGI, which is part of AI alignment research.
