The goal of the Jamaica Day Festival is to goal is to deliver a collection of exciting and innovative booths that reflect authentic Jamaican culture. We believe in providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and where all activity is safe, promoting equal opportunities and prohibiting discriminatory practices. Applications will be consideration based on timeliness of submission, previous history with the Festival, products and services being offered, safety of our patrons and space availability.

Jamaica Day Festival reserves the right to deny any application.

As a participant of the 2023 Jamaica Day Festival, I fully understand and agree to the following:

I will abide by the Festival's Code of Conduct:

1. Respect the dignity and spirit of all participants.
2. Treat all participants fairly and equitably.
3. Respect the rules of the festival.
4. Do not take part in or tolerate behaviour that frightens, embarrasses, demoralizes, or
negatively affects the self-esteem of anyone.
5. Promote language and behaviour that encourages participation.
6. Abusive, disrespectful, or violent language or actions by anyone will not be tolerated.

7. Respect public property and the property of others.

I agree to be present for the Festival scheduled for August 6, 2023.

I recognize and acknowledge that I assume full risk of any injury, property damage or loss which I may sustain as a result of my participation in any and all activities connected with or associated with my participation in the Festival. Furthermore, I understand that I should carry my own insurance and that I store my products and equipment at my own risk.

I agree to waive and relinquish my right to all claims I may have against Jamaica Day Festival, the City of Surrey, all associated sponsors, staff and volunteers of the Festival and agents thereof from any and all claims other parties may have resulting from injuries, damage, or loss caused by, arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with the activities of the festival.

I agree to provide a specified list of all products and/or services I plan to sell, and I acknowledge that I may not be permitted to sell each of the items I submit. I understand that I must comply with all Fraser Health Authority (FHA) regulations pertaining to food sales at special events. This includes ensuring that ensuring that all food handlers have food safe designations and are aware of all regulations governing safe food service to the public. I understand that failure to comply with FHA regulations may result in me being asked to leave the Festival, and forfeiting all fees.

I agree that I am responsible for the transportation, insurance and sale of my products. I agree to pay all the necessary fees set forth in this application. I understand that all cancellations must be made in writing and must be postmarked, emailed, or faxed by no later than July 7, 2023 at which time only 50% of the rental fee will be refunded. I understand that no refunds will be considered after July 7, 2023.

I understand that any personal information submitted in this application is for the purposes of on-site vendors/exhibitors at the Jamaica Day Festival. The Festival is collecting this information under s. 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Jamaica Day Festival reserves the right to close down any booth/exhibit, or any portion said booth/exhibit if it does not abide by these rules and regulations. Future participation in the Festival is dependent upon compliance with all rules and regulations. All decisions made by are final.
