Because vaccine supply is limited, second dose appointments may not be available on the exact day that you are eligible for your second dose.
While getting your second dose is required for maximum protection against COVID-19, the CDC advises that the second dose can be administered up to 6 weeks after the first dose with no ill effects (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/info-by-product/clinical-considerations.html). Getting your second dose a few weeks later than expected is not detrimental to health in any way and will not require you to start the series over.
