Daily Writing: Mindfulness
This is an optional form. It is strongly encouraged, however, and can only boost your learning and achievement, if you make it a habit.

This component of the makerspace invites you to develop vocabulary for your emotions. You can use the precision of the right word to further develop self-awareness, self-efficacy, and resilience.

The physical and mental checks are taken from MyLife (formerly Stop, Breathe, & Think), which is part of BCSD's focus on mindfulness. The language for emotional states come from Ekmans' Atlas of Emotions.

How Is Your Day Going?
This can be a space to share good news, updates, concerns, etc., that do not fit elsewhere.
Stress Level
If it will help you to track your stress level, you may record it here each day. You may find that observing it lessens it. You can also choose to write about the source of your stress in the next section. The image is derived from the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale. Unpacking Your Stress
If it helps to discuss your stress, please do so here. This can be done at any point during the day. It is a service provided to you so that your self-monitoring and mindfulness is not just about observation; it must also be about analysis through writing. This can be done on your best days and your worst with equal efficacy.
Emotional States
For the next five optional prompts, you need some familiarity with Ekmans' Atlas of Emotions. You are choosing the exact word for your emotional state, and then you are analyzing yourself through that word.
