MCH Advocate Survey

The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless invites you to be a Shelter Supporter this legislative session. Your commitment will make homelessness more visible to your lawmaker and in Minnesota. A Shelter Supporter will commit to taking action in different capacities. There are two levels to get involved: Champion and Advocate. Because of the past advocacy of people like you, homelessness and affordable housing are visible issues to lawmakers. With your support, we will work together to expand emergency shelter beds to ensure no one has to sleep outside, invest in programs that cultivate long-term stability, and guarantee everyone in our community has a permanent place to call home. Can we count on you?

CHAMPION LEVEL
- Call and email your lawmaker and invite FIVE people to do each action alert MCH sends
- Attend an event in your community with FIVE of your friends. Be sure to talk about the MCH legislative agenda and if possible hand out copies
- Recruit another person to be a Shelter Supporter
Choose your own action - be creative and let MCH know what you did! Examples are:
- Write a letter to the editor in your community
- Visit your Legislator in your own district or visit them at the Capitol and share the MCH legislative agenda with them

ADVOCATE LEVEL
- Call and email your lawmaker and invite TWO people to do each action alert MCH sends
- Attend an event in your community with TWO of your friends. Be sure to talk about the MCH legislative agenda and if possible hand out copies

SHELTER SUPPORTER EXCLUSIVES
- Optional Zoom meeting every other Monday from 12:00pm-12:30pm w/ updates from MCH (starting Jan 31st, 2022)
- Emails with information, updates, and actions to share with your community
- Your name/organization listed on the website as a Shelter Supporter (optional)
- Be a part of a community of advocates that are working together to end homelessness
