VET Student Loans - Withdrawal Form
Please complete this application form, to submit your request to withdraw from your VET Student Loans course.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

(1) Before submitting, please review the 'VSL Student Withdrawal Policy and Procedure' and 'Re-Crediting your FEE-HELP Balances Procedure' on our website (fitness.edu.au)
(2) Ensure you are familiar with the rules to withdraw in line with your Unit of Study Census Dates

Withdrawing from your program prior to Census Date will mean that your program is cancelled and you cannot continue with your enrolled class. By withdrawing, you will not be able to recommence your training and assessment without re-enrolling.

Before you withdraw, we encourage you to contact your Career Guru / Regional Training Team Leader at your campus to discuss your specific situation.

Reasons for withdrawing from your enrolment - please explain below *
Please provide as much detail as possible to support your request to Withdraw. If your withdrawal is received prior to 11:59pm on your Census Day, your withdrawal will be processed as soon as possible (within a maximum of 28 days) and you will receive confirmation of your withdrawal. If your withdrawal is received after Census Day, you will need to apply for Special Circumstances. Once your Withdrawal Request has been received, the AIF Team will contact you regarding the steps required to follow this process - information is also found at fitness.edu.au.
Conditions of Withdrawal
A Student who is, or would be, eligible for a VET Student Loan and has requested VET Student Loan Assistance, who withdraws from a Unit on or before the census date will not incur a VET Student Loan debt for the tuition fees for that Unit.

Students who have requested VET Student Loan Assistance who remain enrolled after the published census date will incur a VET Student Loan debt for the Unit of Study in which they are enrolled. A Student who withdraws from a Unit after the published census date for that Unit of Study will incur a VET Student Loan debt for that Unit Unit of Study.

Students may find they have to withdraw from their studies after the census date or have been unable to complete their studies due to certain special circumstances. Students in this situation may apply to have their FEE-HELP balance re-credited if it is determined that;

- Circumstances were beyond a student's control
- Circumstances made their initial impact after critical dates (i.e Census Date)
- Circumstances making it impracticable to complete study requirements.

Special circumstances does not include;

- Lack of knowledge or understanding of requirements for VET Student Loan assistance
- Student's incapacity to repay a VET Student Loan debt

An application for re-credit of FEE-HELP balance must be made within 12 months after the Census Date for the course / Unit of Study.

Further information on Special Circumstances can be found in the 'Re-Crediting your FEE-HELP Balances Procedure' on our website (fitness.edu.au). Supporting documentation will be required to support your application to apply for Special Circumstances.
