Marshall Public Schools ESSER III - Proposed Plan
The purpose of this survey is to seek input from parents of district students, staff & community regarding Marshall Public School's proposed plans to date with respect to our ESSER III grant award.  "ESSER III," is the acronym for the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief III, a component of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, intended to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on public school districts.

Marshall Public Schools has been allocated $1,865,880 and plans to use $900,000 to offset costs over the 2022-23 & 2023-24 school years with a successful operational referendum.

A requirement of the grant award is to provide for an opportunity for district stakeholders to offer their input on use of these funds.  Note that these funds are a grant to the district, not a gift that can be used for any purpose.  Grants have:
1. Allowable costs & purposes for which grant funds can be used.
2. Have restrictions or prohibitions on activities that grant funds may not be used.
3. Must have a proposed budget submitted to the WI Dept. of Public Instruction and approved by DPI before grant funds can be used.
4. Funds are only available as reimbursements after grant funded projects/activities have occurred and grant claims submitted for processing.
5. Grant funds must be consumed by September 30, 2024.
