Fall 2024 D-Clearance Request for PPD 558 Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Professor T.J. McCarthy, Section 51281 (Tuesdays @ 2pm) **This course takes place in-person and is not an online section**
Fill out the entire form below.  PLEASE NOTE: All fields are required in order for the form to electronically submit. *Only one d-clearance may be submitted for PPD 558. Multiple section requests are outside of program policy and will delay the processing of your request.

After completing this form, please click the "submit" button found at the bottom of the page. Your information will be emailed to the Graduate Programs in Public Policy Program Administrator, Suzanne Alexander, who is responsible for the d-clearances assigned to this course.

Only one d-clearance may be submitted for PPD 558. Multiple section requests are outside of program policy and will delay the processing of your request. Please note the prerequisite for PPD 558 is PPD 504. If you are an MPP, MPPDS, MHA or Price Ph.D. student who has not been identified as having already met the statistics prerequisite or successfully completed PPD 504 (or summer 2024 equivalent course), documentation illustrating completion of a college inferential statistics course earning a grade of "B" or better will be requested via email by Suzanne Alexander before d-clearance will be awarded.

As Stata software is required in this course, all students awarded d-clearance are required to attend the Fall 2024 Statistics Lab during the week prior to the start of the fall semester. Dates as well as the directions on how to pre-purchase Stata software will be forthcoming for all students with assigned d-clearances. If you have previous Stata software proficiency please contact Suzanne Alexander at alexa1@usc.edu to discuss a possible Statistics Lab waiver.

PPD 558 is a core class requirement for the MPP, MPPDS, MHA and Price Ph.D. programs. PPD 558 seats are extremely limited for students who do not require the course. Following fall 2024 new student registration which begins in May, additional openings may become available once all incoming students have had an opportunity to register.  You will receive an email with a confirmation of the assigned d-clearance and the expiration date or notification that you have been waitlisted.

**Students who do not have PPD 558 as a core class requirement will be kept on a waitlist and contacted in the order received, as space becomes available. Sometimes an alternate 558 section may be offered, depending on space. If you are waitlisted, please make arrangements to manage your USC email account in summer and travel plans which accommodate the required Statistics Lab.
