**DAWSON CITY ARTS SOCIETY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, SPECIAL MEMBERS MEETING, AND NOMINATIONS FORM**


Dawson City Arts Society (DCAS) is a community organization created to enrich the quality of life and community health & wellness in the Yukon through the enhancement of arts, culture and the economy. Dawson City Arts Society is a catalyst and facilitator in education, creation, presentation, and celebration of the arts. DCAS seeks involvement from the community, and from emerging and professional artists at the local, national and international level.  

Our Annual General Meeting will take place Tuesday, May 18th at 5:30pm. You can choose to attend in person or through Zoom (call in or video call available).

Registering for the AGM will allow us to plan accordingly, send out reminders, and meeting packages.

A members package including annual report, 2021 Budget, and resolution to change the DCAS fiscal year will be sent to those who register in advance for review.

**SPECIAL MEMBERS' MEETING TO CHANGE THE DCAS FISCAL YEAR**

Members will vote on the following resolution:

"Be it resolved that the Dawson City Arts Society financial year 2021 commencing on January 1st, 2021 and ending on December 31, 2021 be ended on March 31st, 2022 instead, and that the accounts be prepared for the said financial year for a period of 15 months.

Be it further resolved that subsequent financial years of the Dawson City Arts Society be for a period of twelve months commencing on the 1st of Apri of the year and ending on 31st March the following year."

The Dawson City Arts Society is also accepting nominations to the Board of Directors, as well as the Odd Gallery and Residency Selections Committee. Elections take place at our Annual General Meeting Tuesday, May 18, 5:30pm Yukon Time. You DO NOT have to be in attendance to be nominated.

We will be contacting nominees to provide information and answer questions about serving on the Board Of Directors & Selections Committee.

BOARD OF DIRECTOR TERMS
Nine Director positions are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting to serve 2-year terms.  These terms are staggered (five Directors and four Directors elected in alternating years) to ensure the entire Board does not change at one time.  One additional full Director position has been created for a Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in representative to be annually appointed by Chief and Council.

**ODD GALLERY AND RESIDENCY COMMITTEE**
The Gallery & Residency Committee works with the Gallery Director and Residency Coordinator to assist in planning, approving, implementing, and managing ODD Gallery & KIAC Artist in Residence Program events and activities including the jurying of submissions as well as fundraising.

COMMITTEE TERMS
Minimum of four and maximum of twelve additional volunteer committee members are Elected/appointed at the Annual General Meeting for 2-year term.

• Majority of committee must be practicing artists and DCAS members in good standing.
• The Gallery Director will be an ex officio member of the committee serving as committee secretary if required.
• At least one member of the committee must be a Director, who will serve as committee chairperson, reporting to the DCAS Board.
