Parent/Guardian Input Form for Classroom Environment 2020-2021 at Salem Woods Elementary
Later this spring/summer, teachers will begin the process of creating class groupings for the 2020-21 school year. Salem Woods teachers devote much time, effort and care in developing classroom rosters. The class placement process is very comprehensive.

Our student placement process is guided by the following beliefs and principles:
* Every child’s placement is important and deserves careful consideration.
* Every Salem Woods teacher is dedicated to high academic standards and meeting the learning and social needs of each child.
* Balanced classrooms should reflect our diverse society.
 
We also recognize that you may have additional insights that help us ensure a productive year.
Please note:
* Completion of this form is optional. All students will be given careful consideration for classroom placement, whether or not parent/guardian input is provided.
* The information you provide will be shared with the appropriate faculty involved with your child’s placement – this includes your child’s teachers and next year’s teacher.
* We likely will not be able to create classrooms that honor all requests, especially requests to separate children and/or requests regarding combination classrooms. Please know that we cannot accommodate requests for specific teachers.
