The Fedora Program team is in the process of planning an in-person User Group event in conjunction with the
Open Repositories conference week in Göteborg, Sweden. Open Repositories is taking place from June 3-6, 2024. We are looking to understand what interest there is in coming together in-person and how many individuals would attend so we can plan appropriately.
Ideas for the User Group gathering that are being considered are as follows:
- Social meet & greet - casual, informal gathering to meet other Fedora users before/during/after OR events. This can be as simple as an organized meal together or coffee etc.
- A "Bring your own issue" troubleshooting session - Attendees can bring concerns or issues they have with their implementations and work through them as a collaborative group.
- Migration tutorial - Work through a live migration of sample data with a member of the program team using available tooling and documentation resources.
- Hack-a-thon - Collaboratively tackle a small feature request or spec out work for future features. This would be a great opportunity to familiarize yourself (or introduce yourself) to the code base and dip your toes in to contributing.
- Infrastructure Show & Tell - Come share and discuss your Fedora implementation and how you're using it at your institution.
