The five goals of Ciclovía Salinas are to promote physical activity, unite the community, create a positive city image, stimulate the local economy, and most importantly to develop youth leadership.

Through Ciclovía Salinas, over seventy high school youth temporary transform 1.6 miles of Alisal Street in Salinas into a car-less space, allowing residents to utilize the streets – participating in a wide range of physical activities, such as running, walking, biking, Zumba, as well as free access to a family day filled with hands-on activities. We also invite community organizations to provide free resources and services to the community. Our Ciclovia Salinas 2019 event was a huge success with over 5,000 participants. Ciclovía Salinas will take place on Sunday, March 20, 2022!

Ciclovía would not have been possible without the help of all the adult volunteers. The main task of our adult volunteers is support the event by standing at each street barricade in order to maintain street safety and closure.

Volunteers will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a variety of prizes and also receive free breakfast and/or lunch!
