A Young Actor Prepares - An Online Learning Experience for Young Actors

July 21st - August 6th, 2020
Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Ages 8 - 12

This three week online group class is for young actors interested in learning how to master essential techniques to achieve great performances.

Participants will have fun learning improv, character development, projection, enunciation, accents and other vocal techniques, movement for actors, and even a little Stanislavski! (Hence, the name of our class.)

Activities will include improv games, warm-up techniques and tongue twisters, scene readings, movement games, character games and other fun, engaging activities designed to give young actors a solid base to grow as actors.

All sessions and will be conducted via Zoom, which requires a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone, and a high speed internet connection. There is no cost to use Zoom.

Instructor: Jim Russell, Managing Director, Carrollwood Players Theatre

There is a limit of 12 students for this class.

Cost: Our standard fee for this program is $75 per student, however we are offering this program on a PAY WHAT YOU CAN basis.

Accepted participants will receive instructions on how to complete payment when applicable.

Please complete the online application, which includes a short essay question for students to write as part of their application.

Participants will be selected by the instructor based on their short essay response.

All students must receive permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate in this program.

Students are expected to attend all sessions, complete outside work between sessions, and participate in periodic one-on-one coaching between sessions.
