code{4}lib Regional Meetup -- DC/Maryland/Virginia -- Proposal -- Deadline August 2, 2019
The planning committee is pleased to announce that the 2019 code{4}lib meetup will be held at the University of Baltimore in the Bogomolny Room of the Student Center on August 15, 2019. This one-day event will be a forum for regional participants in the code{4}lib community to share their work, learn about the work of area institutions, and commune with fellow librarians and library tech folk in the mid-Atlantic region.

To help the committee plan for our event, we ask that proposals be submitted no later than Friday, August 2, 2019.

Please also use this registration form to let the committee know if you are interested in presenting at the meetup. We are inviting registrants to propose...

• Presentations -- a traditional presentation discussing your work, research, development activities, or any other related topic (20 minutes)

• Lightning Talk -- a quick-format presentation, less daunting than a traditional presentation but just as fun! (7-10 minutes)

• Instructional sessions -- guided instruction on tools, technologies, or methodologies (30 minutes)

• Hackathons -- collaborative coding activities working towards a solution (or a variety of solutions) to a problem or need (1 hour or longer as needed)

• Discussion sessions -- structured discussions on a focused topic or issue in which you will serve as the facilitator by providing a brief introduction of the topic and guiding group discourse (30 minutes)

• Unclassified session -- Have a topic that doesn't fit the above-stated genres? Need a bit more wiggle room in your session? Unclassified sessions can be whatever you need them to be. Just make sure to clearly describe your topic and plan in the "Session Description" section of your proposal. (20 minutes)

Don't forget to register for the Regional Meetup! Visit the Registration Form at https://forms.gle/3CqZJEuNiKxAJpf26.

Please feel free to contact Joseph Koivisto (jkoivist@umd.edu)  should you have any questions about the meetup, the session proposal process, or the code{4}lib code of conduct (https://github.com/code4lib/code-of-conduct/blob/master/code_of_conduct.md).
