Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is organized yearly since 2004 by non-profit Verzio Film Foundation and Blinken OSA Archive, Budapest, Hungary.

The International Competition is a selection of powerful and creative documentaries on human rights and social issues.

Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2021
Festival dates: November  9-21 , 2021
Festival location: Budapest, Hungary

• No entry fee for applications
• No restriction on the production date
• Entry forms must be filled in English
• Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration
• No re-submission of previously submitted films
• A separate application must be made for each film
• A film cannot be submitted to more than one category

We ask for a preview copy sent as an online link, see in the form below.

• Preview copies must be submitted either IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE or WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES
• Online preview links should remain online and accessible until the end of September
• Make sure you send a link with downloading option

The selection will be made by the Director of Verzió Film Festival, Oksana Sarkisova, whose decision will be final; she may opt during this phase to be assisted by consultants of her own choosing. The selection of the films will be finalized in September, 2021, all applicants will be notified in e-mail. Jury members of the competition programs will be announced in October.

You are duly authorized to submit this film to Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.

The submitted film does not violate the rights of another person's intellectual property, and the copyrights of any artwork used in the film are cleared. 

The submitted film does not violate the individual rights of a third party (including the rights to good reputation, likeness, and voice recording), nor does it violate the right to patent, trademark or commercial secret, and there are no conflicting third-party rights that would exclude the film from the submission. 

Verzió Film Festival is not responsible for any damage resulting from the delivery of the film copy to the festival which can be attributed to inappropriate packaging or any other circumstances during the shipping. 

If selected, make sure to submit a DCP copy (24 fps) and a backup file latest by October 12, 2021. 

You authorize the Festival to use the film trailer and up to 1 minute film excerpts for promotion purposes.
