Foods and Nutrition 2023
Rules:
*Only one entry per division
Commercial mixes are acceptable only for primary members unless a mix is only one of many ingredients in a recipe.
All baked and cooked entries must be brought on disposable plates only large enough to hold the exhibit.  Items should be well wrapped so as not to allow bugs while awaiting evaluation day.  Attached must be a recipe card on a 3x5 card covered in plastic film or laminated.
All canned items must have a label including canning method, processing time, and name of product.  Attached must be a recipe on a 3x5 card covered in plastic film or laminated.
Food products not put on display will be disposed of following judging.
No commercial bread machines may be used in make/baking bread entries.
No paraffin seals.  All canning exhibits must be in sealed jars.

Div 240: Baked Products
*No pies or fruit dessert will be accepted due to quick spoilage
*Only baked products NOT requiring refrigeration for safety may be exhibited
*Quantities: Muffins, biscuits, rolls & cookies 6 each; Cakes 1/2 cake plus 1 slice; Breads 1/2 loaf plus 1 slice

Div 241: Non-baked Products
*Non-baked items may be melted and/or cooked but not baked.  Examples: Candies, fudges, bars, etc.
*Quantities: Candies, rolls, etc 6 each; Large items 1/2 of the item plus 1 slice

Div 242: Canned Fruit or Vegetables
*Submit 2 jars per entry.  Quilted jars are not accepted
*State on the recipe card if products were homegrown, type of product (fruit, vegetable, preserves, etc), the method of process and the date it was made

Div 243: Pickles, Relishes and Fermented Foods
*Submit 2 jars per entry.  Quilted jars are not accepted
*State on the recipe card if products were homegrown, type of product (fruit, vegetable, preserves, etc), the method of process and the date it was made

Div 244: Jams, Jellies, Sauces
*Submit 2 jars per entry.  Quilted jars not accepts
*State on the recipe card if products were homegrown, type of product (fruit, vegetable, preserves, etc), the method of process and the date it was made

Div 245: Drying
*Submit in jars or in sealed plastic bags.  Submit 2 jars or sealed bags per entry.  Quilted jars are not accepted
*State on the recipe card if products were homegrown, type of product (fruit, vegetable, preserves, etc), the method of process and the date it was made

Div 246: Homemade Food mixes
*Submit one jar of your food mix.  It will be judged on appearance only.  The jar may be decorated.
*You must submit a recipe with your entry

Div 248: Poster Display
* Standard poster board size
* Must clearly Teach a concept or explain a process
