2023/24 Registration Information 

Ermineskin Community Preschool is a parent-owned, parent-operated cooperative within the Ermineskin Community League. We are a non-profit organization, with all funds going back into the preschool. We are licensed for a maximum of 18 children per class. Vacancies during the school year are filled from the waiting list on a “first-come, first-served” basis, with priorities as established by the Ermineskin Community Preschool policies. 

As your child grows and becomes more aware of the surrounding world, he or she will enjoy and benefit from socialization with his or her peers. Ermineskin Community Preschool meets these socialization needs by allowing children in our community to meet and play together.

The Preschool aims to be a fun and happy place for your child. We want him or her to be comfortable here, and we want you, the parents, to be comfortable with the school too. We hope you and your child will make good friends through your association with Ermineskin Community Preschool.

Fees

Tuition for the Tuesday/Thursday class is $148/month (This amount DOES NOT reflect the $75 grant through the Alberta - Canada Early Learning and Child Care Agreement and as of January 1, 2022 is available to all students. This is automatically applied to everyone bringing the monthly fee to $73/month). Monthly fees are set in accordance with the needs of the program. Cheques for the school year are collected at the September Annual General Meeting. Nine post-dated cheques in total starting at September 1 (for September fees), October 1 thru to May 1. All cheques should be made payable to Ermineskin Community Preschool. In the memo field for the monthly cheques, please print your child's name and the program he or she is enrolled in (i.e. Sam Jones, 4 yr class). 

Tuition for the Monday/Wednesday/Friday class is $180/month (This amount DOES NOT reflect the $75 subsidy through the Alberta - Canada Early Learning and Child Care Agreement and as of January 1, 2022 is available to all students. This is automatically applied to everyone bringing the monthly fee to $105/month). Monthly fees are set in accordance with the needs of the program. Cheques for the school year are collected at the September Annual General Meeting. Non-Refundable Registration Fee - $60

Fundraising Fee $200 -  this means that there will be no mandatory fundraising events such as Purdy's, Mabel's labels or like fundraising programs.

Supply Fee $50 - this money goes toward helping the program with their “consumables” (this is a term that we use for things that need to be bought every year. For example paint or paper or specialty craft items)

Assigned Job - To best meet your abilities, skills, and availability please choose three positions that interest you and we will do our best to  accommodate your requests. Job descriptions are in the preschool handbook. We must have at least 2 representatives from each class on the Preschool Parent Board that meets on a monthly basis on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

I hereby give consent for my child to leave the Ermineskin Community Preschool classroom premises on outings under the supervision of the Preschool staff and parent volunteer(s). This includes inside the Steinhauer Elementary building and its school grounds including the playground and Ermineskin Community League skating rink and grass area. All walking field trips and field trips that are further than this defined area require additional consent for each outing.

I give the Ermineskin Community Preschool permission to use picture and video of my child for the following purposes: promotional content to be used on the Ermineskin Community Preschool website and Facebook page, promotional content to be used in the local newsletter the Ermineskin Enlightener, class photo to be posted on the Ermineskin Community Preschool bulletin Board and pictures to be used for the year end scrapbook. Please note: parents that take photographs during their child’s class are NOT permitted to post the photos on the internet (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Blogs, Twitter etc.)

Ambulance Service 

I being the parent or legal guardian do hereby give permission for the ambulance service to be called when deemed necessary and I will be responsible for any charges incurred for such a service.

PIPA (Personal Information Protection Act) Release 

I give permission for my child ’s base information to be included in a class list for distribution to other parents in the preschool program. This means only my childs name, class, parents names, phone number and email.

I have read and understand the fees and fines for all families enrolled at Ermineskin Community Preschool.  I understand that my registration cannot be processed until I have completed the $60 registration fee which is required to be submitted with the registration form via e-transfer, cheque or cash and that this fee is non-refundable.
