Kauai Island Chess Tournament #12 Registration
WHEN: Saturday, August 27, 2022.  Starts at 8:45am.  Ends around 5pm.  Beginner section ends around 1pm.  Blitz tournament ends around 7:30pm.

WHERE: Kauai Society of Artists Gallery in the Kukui Grove Shopping Center.  (Look for KSA behind Jamba Juice, behind the children's playground).  

ENTRY FEE: $25 if entry is received by Wednesday, August 24 (beginner section $20).  $35 thereafter (beginner $25).  Discounts: Deduct $10 for under age 20 or over 60, and $5 for each additional family member.  Blitz entry fee $15, with $5 discount for under age 20 or over 60.  (Scholarships available by request - please just ask for what you need.)

BRING: A friend. All chess boards, pieces and clocks will be provided. Current USCF membership is required except in beginner section (new.uschess.org/join-us-chess).   New players under age 20 can join the USCF at the tournament for just $10.

FORMAT: A non-elimination chess tournament (everyone plays all rounds).   There will be three sections: 1) A 4-round unrated section for beginners, 2) A 7-round USCF Quick-rated section with a G/20 +9 time control, and 3) A 7-round USCF Dual-rated section (both quick and regular) with a G/20 +10 time control.
