As you apply to be a counselor at Camp OOMF 2022, please know that we take this responsibility very seriously. By submitting your application, you are acknowledging that you are willing and ready (& physically able with a cheerful attitude) to lead and love 4th & 5th grade kids. You are also acknowledging that you are in a spiritually healthy place and are fit to have spiritual oversight over and investment into our students.

We usually get a few more applications than we can 'afford' to take. Either way, after you have submitted your application, our team will be in contact to schedule a follow-up interview or let you know that we need to wait until a later time.

So, how do we make our selections? We’re glad you asked…
Please read the following process carefully.

Here is the system that guides our selection process:
1. FAITHFULNESS – Are you an IBC member who is present and actively involved in the body of Christ AT IDLEWILD? Do you attend a service with Pastor Ken on Sunday morning? Furthermore, are you actively involved in a small group or regularly serving at Idlewild? What is your Bible Fellowship (small group) attendance?

2. WALK WITH CHRIST - While we want you to have a growing love for the Church, we also want you to have a growing love for Jesus. They go hand in hand. And while faithfulness is a priority for us, we also know that just because you’re involved doesn’t necessarily mean that your relationship with Jesus is growing and vibrant. We want our applicants to have both. In order to get some better insight into this, we will have a one-on-one interview with each applicant.

3. CM LEADERS – If both of the previous criterion are met, we take applicants in order of who is currently serving with 4th and 5th graders at IBC. We do this so that kids can connect with their small group leaders that they will have for the whole year. Did you know, according to a Barna Study, kids who have an adult pouring into them outside of mom or dad are more likely to be a resilient follower of Christ as an adult? We will have more parents apply than what we can afford to take, so we will prioritize parents who are already serving in our ministry. Note, we pay for each adult leader to attend and have limited beds/funds available, so while we would love all to come, we simply cannot take everyone.

4. WE PRAY - Yep, we pray over each person and ask God to lead us to the people He wants to attend this year.

All applications are due by August 4, 2022. However, based on the criteria above, it greatly benefits the applicant to submit their application as soon as possible.

Please note: All applicants must be able to attend ALL days of the retreat for the ENTIRE TIME.
