The Arizona legislature has introduced multiple bills that attack many of the core values of our universities and our union, including:

• HB2753, which dramatically expands the role of the Arizona Board of Regents and the university presidents and fundamentally reduces the role of faculty in academic activities
• HB2178, which proposes a new system of funding student organizations and threatens to defund student government bodies
• SB1005, which targets funding for programs focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, such as women and gender studies

What is your position on protecting academic freedom and the interests of students, staff, and faculty on our campuses?
Why are you seeking the endorsement of UCWA, and what does that endorsement mean to you?
Have you been endorsed by other organizations? If so, please identify who.
