Food Waste Reduction Pilot
Marion County Environmental Services is pleased to partner with local food industry for a pilot on food waste reduction.We will be working with 6 county businesses to address food waste and create metrics to support change. Each pilot member will also work with EarthWISE sustainable business network to gain EarthWISE certification.This certification includes a plaque and window clings for your site, advertising in our EarthWISE consumer directory and earned media in both social media and print platforms. members will have at no cost access to resources, materials , workshops and networking coffee hours. In addition with our pilot program , our 6 businesses will receive additional media around participation during the program,opportunities to join us on our radio/podcast through KMUZ, additional certification after program and up to 1000 dollars in goal based reimbursement to enhance waste reduction or sustainability at your business.We will be accepting applications until pm on September1 st. We will notify everyone via email by September 3rd. and our 6 chosen sites will be scheduled to connect with EarthWISE the first week in September.
Participants in the program will need to be able to commit to 8 hours of direct face time with an EarthWISE consultant over the course of 6 weeks. This includes chosen staff attending a food waste reduction workshop ( can be done on site) and a pre and post food waste audit.
