As a non-profit, The Portland Gear Hub's work centers around getting more people outside by increasing equitable access to affordable, reliable gear and collaborative education. This scholarship is for the mechanic-curious person who is trans, non-binary, genderqueer, two-spirit, femme, or women.
This scholarship covers the $325 fee for our Be Your Own Bike Mechanic, Gender Equality Outdoors (GEO) Edition - a comprehensive 6 week course at our Bike School that meets once a week for 2 hours. Each 2 hour session consists of a lecture and hands-on bike mechanic practice.
Scholarships are available for ANY of our Gender Equality Outdoors (GEO) Editions of the Be Your Own Bike Mechanic Class as long as spots are available.
This scholarship application comprises of 4 sections.
Section 1: Selection of Class
Section 2: Demographic Information
Section 3: 3 short essay questions
Section 4: Terms of agreement
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Scholarship recipients selected by a panel of bike community and staff members.
