This class is taught by Çiğdem Polat

Çiğdem Polat - dancer, physical performer, theater maker and intuitive movement coach - graduated from the Amsterdam University of Arts Academy of Theater and Dance in Urban Contemporary Dance. She was seen in productions, such as Belgian Rules/Belgium Rules by Jan Fabre, SYZYGY by Jakop Ahlbom and Quake van Casper Vandeputte; a collaboration between Stichting DOX and Theater Utrecht. She touches on taboo breaking themes related to mental health and cultural conflicts. Her movement language is inspired by sign language, the animalistic, subconscious, authentic body.

​Çiğdems class starts with a guided improvisation to warm-up and tune into your body, later developing towards the characteristics of Çiğdem's movement language. She will end the class with a phrase. This class focuses on expressing what makes you unique as a dancer and learning to trust your body. She uses tools such as Body & Mind awareness, Rhythm, Storytelling with the body and Authentic self expression.

The registration fees for the masterclasses will not be refunded in case of cancellation on the part of the participants. The organizers cannot be held responsible for damages or injuries that may occur during the event to objects or people. The leader of each group, under their sole responsibility, declares that all participants have a sufficiently good state of health for physical fitness and that the minor participants have obtained permission from their parents or legal guardians to participate in this event. The leader of the group ensures that all participants and the parents of any participants who are minors have read and agree to the liability waiver. The leader of each group who signs this application form declares under their own responsibility that students, parents, tutors, or guardians have been informed about and have approved each point and rule/regulation, and the terms and conditions for participation as stated.
