Monthly sessions will include presentations from exciting guest speakers working in academia or industry, followed by group discussions and activities. Each month, we will focus on a different academic subject (eg. chemical engineering or anthropology), reflect on a new Afrocentric principle (e.g. Kujichagulia/self-determination or Umoja/unity).

Mentors will also meet with their paired participant(s) during the month. These meetings will include facilitated discussion based on the monthly principle and academic subject, as well as free-form conversation guided by mentor and participant interest. The total time commitment is approximately 5 hours a month from October 2021 until May 2022 as well as 2 training sessions in October 2021.
