The Campbell County Public Library System is happy to announce our annual Summer Reading program for 2021! The theme is “Tails and Tales,” and is scheduled to run from June 1 to July 31, 2021. Through an online platform called Beanstack, patrons are awarded badges depending on their participation in a number of challenges, which range from reading, to engaging in creative prompts, to attending our in-person or remote programming. You can choose which badges you’d like to earn, and in addition to virtual flair, you will also be entered into our fantastic prize drawings.

In an effort to serve our patrons with this program, we are looking for monetary donations to help us with the costs of programming and materials. The Campbell County Public Library System Foundation is a 501(c)3, and your donation would be tax deductible. If monetary donations aren’t your thing, we’re also accepting donations of prizes (valued at $20-50), gift cards, free vouchers, or similar items you’d like to give for our prize drawings.

Our patrons are your customers. They visit CCPLS’s four branches (in Rustburg, Brookneal, Altavista, and the Timberlake area) looking for free books, Internet access, and engaging programming. In this tough economy, when we’re all concerned about our budgets and purchases, we continue to see our patron numbers increase. Library activities like the Summer Reading program are free and open to all patrons to participate, regardless of the size of their wallet.

By donating to our program, our sponsors prove themselves to be altruistic and community-focused. In return, your organization will be printed in 1,000 colorful brochures, which are handed out across Campbell County. We partner with the school system to put our Summer Reading materials in the hands of students and their families. We also utilize an extensive advertising and public relations campaign, hold a highly popular kick-off event, attend fun community events with our Pop-Up Library, and host a one-day grand finale event that has attracted over 700 attendees. Our wonderful sponsors are at the center of this program, and we love to highlight your support to our 3,500+ Facebook followers.
