The Master Gardener course is an intensive gardening course for beginners and experienced gardeners. The daytime course is mostly comprised of field trips, hands-on activities, and learning by doing during class time. On-line reading assignments and quizzes are additional assignments to be completed at home. The course is challenging, and you will learn a lot, take your gardening skills to a new level, and have fun.
The Master Gardener course will take place
Wednesdays from 9 AM to noon from March 6 to May 22 for a total of twelve classes. Total classroom time is 36 hours.
The Master Gardener course is a volunteer training course. After initial training, 40 hours of community service in gardening projects and outreach of your choice are required to receive your certification. We are happy to help you find opportunities to share your knowledge. Once certified, only 20 hours of volunteer service annually are required to maintain your certification.
