Northey Street City Farm (NSCF) is a not-for-profit permaculture urban farm in the heart of Brisbane. The Farm was founded
in 1994 by a group of local residents who wanted space to grow their own
food while educating others about how to do it. From a bare site in
1994 it has transformed into a vibrant green oasis, welcoming thousands
of visitors every year.
The Winter Solstice Festival is our biggest annual fundraising event. It showcases organic food,
sustainability workshops, markets, kids activities, a solstice
ceremony, lantern parade, bonfire and performances from local artists.
This festival wouldn't happen without the contribution of many amazing
volunteers. We’d love you to join us in the lead up and help at the
festival on the day. Volunteering roles vary greatly and can range from painting signs in the lead up to the festival to welcoming guests on the night. We will try our best to match your role with your interests and areas you'd like to develop skills and experience in.
Volunteering is a great way of getting to know the people behind the festival, making new friends and deepening your relationship with the Farm. For those wishing to take on roles with extra responsibilities, we will happily be referees for your future applications.
We hope you can be a part of our festival.
