Sturgis Charter Public School loans this technology device as a tool for educational purposes for the pursuit of innovative learning, with the expectation it will be used respectfully, thoughtfully, with integrity and honesty. The loanee is encouraged to use the device to its fullest potential and follow the guidelines, terms, and conditions outlined in this loan agreement and in the Responsible Use Policy (RUP).

The loanee and Parent/Guardian shall exercise reasonable care in the use of the loaned device. While the device is covered under warranty, the user may be held liable for a lost device and/or device that has been damaged due to neglect, abuse or malicious act.
The loanee shall not modify or alter the equipment provided. This includes, but is not limited to: Defacing, Stickers, Writing/Graffiti, Installing unauthorized programs, Uninstalling programs, Addition of passcodes.
Loanees acknowledge that all content on the technology is subject to review/inspection by school staff at any time. Sturgis Charter Public School’s administrators may at any time discontinue or suspend a user’s use of the school device.
Any maintenance or repair service will be performed by The Technology Specialists at Sturgis.
The loanee (and Parent/Guardian if student) shall be responsible for the pick-up and return to the high school of said equipment at the specified times.
Identification labels have been placed on the device. These labels are not to be removed or modified.
If the device becomes damaged or missing, the user or student’s parent/guardian will be billed for the current value of the device, and peripherals.
The loanee acknowledges and agrees that the technology equipment loaned to her/him is to be used solely by the loanee for instructructional use only, and its use is a privilege. The loanee’s agreement to the terms hereof acknowledges his/her responsibility to protect and safeguard the Sturgis property and to return the same in good condition upon request by Sturgis.
At the end of the school year or within the time agreed upon, loanees must return SHORT TERM devices and peripherals such as keyboards, styluses, cases, power adapters and power cables to Sturgis. Failure to return devices and peripherals will result in withheld report cards/paychecks.
Long term loans must be returned at the end of a student's enrollment at Sturgis.
Software has been put in place on loaned equipment to protect users from accessing inappropriate web contact. The loanee must adhere to the Responsible Use Policy (RUP) when using any Sturgis technology in or out of school.
