FY24 Ruth Ann Hall Champion Student Recognition Nomination Form
The Ruth Ann Hall Champion Scholar Award was established by the EACC as a memorial to Ruth Ann Hall.  Ms. Hall was a teacher in Charles County for over twenty years and a passionate advocate for children and public education.  She was a recipient of the Agnes Myers Washington Post teacher of the year award.  Ms. Hall was a dedicated educator and was respected and loved by her students.  In her memory, we have established this award for middle school students, since her last assignment was at Mattawoman Middle School.

Nomination Process: Middle School teachers/teams can nominate a middle school student for the Champion Student Recognition by completing a nomination form and returning it to the EACC office by April 19, 2024.

The included nomination form must be completed by the teacher/team and should list specific reasons for why this student should be recognized as a Champion Student.  There is no limit of nominees per teacher/team/school.

This award is intended to recognize middle school students who have worked hard, despite having suffering from adverse childhood experiences, and have persevered through these adversities. Please describe the adverse conditions that have negatively impacted your nominee as well as you are able (there may be privacy reasons as to why you may not go into details), as well as how they have managed to show improvement despite those conditions. You may nominate students who have shown improvement in areas such as attendance, good citizenship, effort, or other related academic areas.

Prize: Selected Champion Students will receive a certificate of accomplishment, a gift card, and recognition by the EACC and the CCPS Board of Education.
