Norwich Police Department:  Community Survey
In May of 2020, the Norwich Police Department was charged with developing and implementing a strategic plan for the agency that would identify the overall goals of the department, supported by a comprehensive plan of action for actualization.  As a small rural agency built on a foundation of community policing, we recognize that our community is an integral component of that process.  In order to achieve a full and comprehensive strategic plan, this exercise cannot be conducted in a silo as we are dependent on the engagement of external stakeholders in this process.

Over the next several months, the Police Department will be reaching out to stakeholders, presenting them with a wide variety of options to engage with the department and share their perspectives on the current status of the Norwich Police Department; with an opportunity to provide input on the design and implementation of short and long term goals and initiatives for the agency.  These opportunities for engagement include small and large group settings, direct mailings, online surveys, and interviews among others.  With a blend of qualitative and quantitative strategic planning tools, the Norwich Police Department seeks to obtain a well-rounded, diverse perspective of the current perception of the agency as a whole, with an extensive understanding of the communities relationship with the department, expectations for the agency, and a greater understanding of the needs and issues facing our community.  Thank you for agreeing to participate in the strategic planning process and for adding your voice to the many who will serve to craft the direction of the agency moving forward.  Your opinions, thoughts and voice matters!
