Name
optional, if entered must match existing cmdb_ci_hardware Name or cmdb_ci_dns_name Node Name field, in theory could match both with different results, or match both with equal results.
Property Number
optional, but at least one of Prop# and Serial# must be entered, if entered must match either existing Hardware Property Tag field OR existing u_sunflower_info Property Tag(SF) field.  If this field matches it should be unique, so eliminate the Create New option at the end.
Serial Number
optional, but at least one of Prop# and Serial# must be entered, if entered must match either existing Hardware Serial number field OR existing u_sunflower_info Serial Number(SF) field.  There are duplicate serial #'s across different manufacturers, so there may be multiple matches.
Network Hardware Address (MAC Address)
optional, if entered must match existing cmdb_ci_network_adapter MAC Address. If non-matching entry is attempted, notify user that this is for lookup of existing mac addresses, and new mac addresses may be entered on the next page.  please accept both dash (-) and colon (:) separators and convert to colons.  If this field matches it should be unique, so eliminate the Create New option at the end.  However, if multiple results are returned, ignore all of them as there are some bogus duplicate mac addresses which come from SCCM/JAMF/OCS?  I think ignore is the easy/quick failsafe... if we want to get into the weeds...  Maybe we can get a valid and always unique set by filtering on the Status(install_status) or Registration Type fields... or maybe we trust no one will enter one of the bogus duplicates... but need to still fail safely somehow, right?  Looking a little more, it seems there is a nightly job to cleanup the duplicates... still might be a window where SCCM/JAMF/OCS imports have run, but duplicate eliminator has not yet run?
IP Address
optional, if entered must match existing cmdb_ip_address_dns_name IP Address field.  If this field matches it should be unique, so eliminate the Create New option at the end.
Select System to Add/Modify or Retire
required.  The below options are auto generated based on the above input, if no input above, then just the 'Create New' option shows up.  These are the cmdb_ci_harware records matched by AND'ing the above search parameters.  If there is only one option here it would be nice to have it defaulted.  If there are multiple matches, it would be nice to have a place to click and get a popup of all the CI record details so they can properly choose the right one.  Displaying the CI name, Property & Serial #'s, DNS name & IP address if existing, right in the selector list would be good.
