Hockey NZ - Coaching of Introductory Players Programme 2022
Date: Sunday 26 June
Time: 4:30-7:30pm
Venue: Nunweek Park
Facilitators (Developers): Sunjay Ganda & Joe Piggott
Target Audience: new/intermediate experienced coaches of late junior, youth, secondary or adult teams outside of the premier competitions.
Cost: FREE - we're lucky enough to have funding available to support the delivery of this programme, so don't miss the chance to develop your coaching and earn a Hockey NZ coaching accreditation for free.
Pre-requisites: Coaches will need to complete the Coaching Fundamentals Course via Hockey NZ's Online Learning Portal before attending this workshop.

The workshop will be facilitated by Sunjay Ganda, who is a Hockey New Zealand Trainer and FIH accredited developer and Canterbury Hockey's Community Participation Manager, Joe Piggott, who is a Hockey New Zealand Developer. Both Sunjay and Joe also have extensive club, school and representative coaching experience.

Throughout the programme the group will explore the role of a coach, essential skills, how to cater for different learning styles, managing trainings and matches, individual v team development and the importance of reflection.

Participants who complete the practical workshop and the online lessons will receive a Hockey NZ Coaching of Introductory Players Programme accreditation.
