The rite of infant baptism for children ages infant up to age 6 is normally celebrated approximately 5-6 times yearly at St. Bernard parish. If you are inquiring about a child that is already aged 7 or older please contact Cyndi Marlow, 239-5178 ext. 2203 to determine if we will need to use a different rite of baptism for your child.
Before selecting or planning your child's baptism date please read over the following.
1. At least one parent must be Catholic and attend a Parent Baptism Preparation Session prior to the baptism being scheduled. If you have attended a parent preparation session at St. Bernard in the last three years, you will not need to attend again.
2. Your chosen godparents must submit a "
Certificate of Eligibility" form to the parish where they are currently registered and practicing/living their Catholic faith. This form must be completed by that parish and must have that parish's seal to be considered valid. Catholic godparents will be emailed a copy of the needed form (
Please be sure to provide a valid email for each godparent.) . If needed the Godparent can download the form from our parish website at www.stbernardlou.com/baptism.
IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD BEING BAPTIZED, PLEASE COMPLETE A SEPARATE FORM FOR EACH CHILD. When answering repetitive questions for the additional child you may just put see other child's form .
