The Civil Rights, Privacy and Technology Table breaks down silos between groups in the civil rights, digital rights, media justice and public interest sectors to advance the digital civil rights movement. Founded in 2011 by the Ford Foundation, the Table includes more than 30 organizations collaborating to lead successful national and regional campaigns and set the digital civil rights agenda. The Table leverages relationships among the leading experts in civil rights and technology to address a wide range of technology and privacy concerns, including surveillance of immigrant communities, hate speech and online propaganda, bias in facial recognition technology and online voter suppression.
The Table is accepting applications for organizations that work on technology related issues that impact the civil rights community to join us in our efforts to build a more equitable digital world. If you feel you would be a good fit for the table, please tell us more below. We will accept applications for membership until 11:59 p.m. ET on November 3, 2023.
Your responses to these questions can be brief---a sentence or two whenever possible. If you have any questions about this application, please reach out to Anita Banerji at banerji@civilrights.org.
