Our all-volunteer board works together to offer resources, programs, and educational events that connect the Joys and Justice of food with a commitment to our local community and the environment. We are seeking a diverse mix of talented people who can contribute to furthering our mission of good, clean, and fair food for all.
We are particularly looking for board members to lead in the following areas, and encourage those with experience and interest to make a note within their application:
• Treasurer: Maintains the chapter income and expenditures, leads the budgeting process, files the chapter's annual taxes, and prepares the budget portion on the annual chapter report.
• Secretary: Works with Board Chair on board meeting minutes and agendas, organizes and maintains the chapter drive, assists with annual reports.
• Slow Garden Coordinator: Steers the Chapter's Slow Garden program by networking with local school and community gardens, liaises with the Slow Food USA garden committee, works with the board to raise funds for the chapter's garden projects, and promotes the annual Slow Food Plant a Seed campaign.
• Food Justice and Policy Chair: Steers the Chapter’s advocacy work and provides civic engagement opportunities for our members.

BOARD SELECTION PROCESS:
The nominating committee will evaluate the applications, possibly interview the nominee and determine who would be a candidate based on the attributes they would bring to balance the needs and existing strengths of the board. The committee will select a slate of candidates for board approval and circulate bios of the candidates to the membership by email. Slow Food Seattle members will then vote online.
Please feel free to reach out to us to discuss your participation:
