OELMA's Conference will be held October 2-4, at OCLC in Dublin. This year's theme is "Empowering the Future: Lifting Voices through the Library." This conference will be a celebration of the transformative power of school libraries in shaping the future and uplifting voices within our educational communities.
The theme of this year's conference, "Empowering the Future: Lifting Voices through the Library," underscores the essential role that school libraries play in amplifying diverse voices, promoting inclusivity, and cultivating a culture of empathy and understanding. We invite you to share your expertise, insights, and innovative practices that empower students to become active participants in their own learning journey and agents of positive change in their communities.
We welcome presentation proposals on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in school libraries
Cultivating digital literacy and information literacy skills
Incorporating social justice and anti-racism initiatives into library programming
Fostering a love for reading and literacy engagement
Utilizing technology to enhance library services and resources
Collaborating with classroom teachers and community partners to support student learning
Creating inclusive and welcoming library spaces for all students
Implementing innovative programs to engage and inspire students
We encourage presentations that showcase practical strategies, evidence-based practices, and creative approaches that empower students to explore their interests, develop critical thinking skills, and become informed and engaged global citizens.
We are currently accepting proposals for concurrent sessions, each lasting 45 minutes. Special consideration will be given to sessions in which participants will engage in hands-on learning activities and/or leave with tools or products for immediate application of the learning. Proposals must be submitted by April 15, 2023.

Thank you for your dedication to excellence in school librarianship, and we look forward to receiving your proposals!
