The devil is in the details - unusual and fun inventions in the history of science – mini-exhibition and quiz
Every year, hundreds of thousands of patents are granted for new inventions in Europe, the US and Hungary. Many of these important creations, such as our everyday objects: the ballpoint pen, the telephone, vehicles, the internet, have changed the world. Others have made everyday life easier; and some were indeed inventions people never knew they needed. Despite the many pioneering and useful inventions on the market, many other strange and sometimes funny creations throughout history have reached the initial concept, only to never achieve commercial success. This may have been because they were ahead of their time, or because they were impractical, difficult to use, or confusing.
Our mini-exhibition is an attempt to showcase the fun, quirky experiments and inventions that were mostly never seen by the public or were only prototypes of objects that later became known and used. Join us on this exciting excursion into the history of technology.

Take a look at the pictures, answer the questions and win! The quiz is open until 10 pm on 31 October.
On 2 November, we'll draw five winners from those who answer correctly to win a gift pack. You will be notified by email.
