The Iowa Disaster Human Resource Council (IDHRC) is the Iowa Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) and state representative to National VOAD. As such, we prescribe to certain commonalities.
As an IDHRC member, we agree to work cooperatively, rather than competitively, to assist persons and families who have been adversely affected by a disaster. We agree to regularly attend IDHRC meetings, openly communicate, and share best practices. We agree that all disaster survivors should be served in a manner that is as simple, uncomplicated and stress-free as possible. In addition, whenever possible, we will rely on each other’s assessments and recommendations. We agree to prescribe to the 4 C’s of National VOAD: Cooperation, Communication, Coordination, and Collaboration. We agree to adhere to the IDHRC's policies and procedures* and the National VOAD Points of Consensus**. We agree and consent to the mutual use of pictures and video taken in the course of our efforts to be used as a way of marketing what we have come together to accomplish.
In return, members will have a conduit into both the government response as well as easy access to the resources of National VOAD. Members will receive information from our mailing list, website, and will be better connected into the IDHRC network which has a wealth of experience and knowledge to better plan for, prepare for, respond to and recover from a disaster.
This SOU will be renewed every three years by both the IDHRC and the Member Organization.
