Burlesque is for all womxn, regardless of age, race, weight, sexual orientation or fitness levels, it is about learning to love our bodies and acknowledging the beauty of the feminine spirit. At The Rouge Revue we aim to embrace and accept our bodies in all their assorted variations and challenge the media's stereotypical image of beauty by demonstrating the unique beauty of each dancer.

You will find that burlesque dancing brings renewed self confidence, increased fitness and a feeling of well being as well as being a wonderful place to meet new friends and have fun.

COVID protocol
1. Please do not come to class if you are feeling under the weather or if you have ANY covid symptoms. Rather join an online class that week please.


2. Please sanitize your hands when you arrive at the studio.


Class Fees 2022
1 class per week – R600 per month (4 classes)
2 x per week – R980 per month (8 classes)
3 x per week - R1250 per month (12 classes) 


Fees to be paid by EFT between the 25th and 30th of the month, in advance ease.
Please treat your class fees as my salary, as this is my full time job and I rely on your fees to pay my bills and my bond.  

One months written, paid notice is required should you decide to leave the studio.

NB! Please park on the opposite side of the road from my house so as not to park in front of anyone's home. My neighbours are very prickly about parking. Buzz the intercom to be let in. Please don't let my cats out of the front gate. Please hang up your bags and goodies on the hooks in the passage as you come in and be sure to sanitise on your way in.

RRBC - General Code of Conduct


Please note - No racism, sexism, ableism, xenophobia, homophobia, or transphobia will be tolerated within RRBC.


All enrolled pupils have amateur status. 
 
Should any student participate in any performance outside of RRBC, please inform the principal. In this event, please be sure to mention that you represent The Rouge Revue in all advertising, introductions etc. 

Pupils may not arrange for friends or family to be spectators during classes unless the consent of the principal has been obtained. Should someone be interested in joining classes, they are encouraged to participate, rather than watch the class. 

Please note that burlesque class is ‘adult time’ so no kids may come along to class.

Pupils who are repeatedly absent will not be taken into account for  performances within or outside of RRBC. 

Students who perform for the regular quarterly studio shows will not be paid for their performance but may receive a gift from the studio.

No student is under any obligation to perform in public. All performances are voluntary.

We are affiliated with Rape Crisis and donate part of the proceeds from most of our shows to them.

RRBC  will be closed on Public holidays and for 4 weeks over the festive season; unless the principal decides otherwise.  


Code of Conduct: Sexual Harassment and Consensual Sexual Conduct 


As the studio grows, I've taken the opportunity to start updating aspects of our code of conduct.  In a space such as ours, where we share our feminine power and our vulnerabilities, our bodies and our beauty,  it's important to ensure that there is a support structure and framework in place should there ever be an issue relating to sexual conduct. 

 

Note, as a studio we cannot prohibit relationships between students, however we do not condone or encourage them.

 

Additionally, while I hope everyone already has a full understanding of consent, if there is any doubt please refer to the code of conduct.  While I hope this will never be the case, should there ever be a scenario where there is sexual misconduct within the studio, this code of conduct outlines the procedure in terms of getting support.
