Spring Semester Enrollment Declaration
For the 2nd Semester each Hoggard student/family must declare their desired form of instruction for the entire semester. This will allow the school to better support students, and provide stability to their instruction throughout the remainder of the school year. Students/families will have the following three options and must declare a decision prior to Monday, January 4th.
Option 1) AA/BB- students will need to attend school in person on their assigned AA (Monday, Tuesday) or BB (Thursday, Friday) assigned groups. All students in the AA/BB cohort are expected to attend all online sessions on their non in-person days. Attendance will be taken Monday through Friday based on attendance in the students' in person classes and their online Zoom classes. Students not attending on their assigned in person days, and not on their scheduled Zoom classes on those assigned days will be marked absent. Students should plan to attend the entire class period and the entire Zoom period. Students with IEP's, 504's and English Learners in their first two years in US Schools will be eligible to attend 4 days a week for in-person learning. In certain situations, students may be required to report to campus for required state testing.
Option 2) Remote- In this option students will need to attend all of their classes Monday through Friday online via Zoom. Students not attending scheduled Zoom classes will be marked absent. Remote students will work with their assigned classroom teacher, and will be in the same sections of courses that are also attended by AA/BB students. Students should plan to attend the entire Zoom class. In certain situations, students may be required to report to campus for required state testing.
Option 3) Virtual Academy- This option is only open to students who were in the Virtual Academy first semester and were successful with this mode of learning. No new students will be added to the Virtual Academy for 2nd Semester. In this option, students will take classes asynchronously via Edgenuity and/or teacher-made coursework. A teacher will be assigned to monitor student progress. Daily attendance and logins to each classes are expected, and students not logging in each day will be marked absent. Some elective classes may not be available in this option. Coursework will need to be completed by May 17th, 2021. In certain situations, students may be required to report to campus for required state testing. If a student was not successful with Virtual Academy coursework in the fall, they will not be eligible for the Virtual Academy and will need to decide between AA/BB, or remote learning.
*In the event no choice is selected, and no contact can be made, the default choice will be AA/BB until contact is established.
*Teacher Information- Student schedules and teacher information, along with student numbers, can be found by the student logging into their PowerSchool account.
