A 2 year old girl presented with a slightly pruritic scalp swelling with pus. It started as a scaly annular lesion 15 days ago. Despite the application of a steroid and fungal combination topical cream, the lesion rapidly turned into boggy pustular swelling. She was afebrile. There was no family history of such lesions. On examination, there is a solitary erythematous pustular lump on the scalp with some strands of loose hair. Nails and mucosa were normal. There was mild cervical lymphadenopathy. Skin scrapings were obtained.
