Le Moyne College Upward Bound is a federally-funded program for Syracuse City School District high school students who will be first-generation college students. Our program aims to improve the academic performance, motivation levels, and self-confidence of the participating students so they can reach their ultimate goal of achieving a college education. We hire instructors to work with students on Saturday mornings at Le Moyne College during the academic year.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan, teach, and prepare materials for classes
- Evaluate student and group performance
- Attend regularly scheduled Staff Meetings
- Participate in Program Awards Ceremonies
- Perform related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) with a concentration in the field of learning development and/or in the assigned teaching field
- Provisional/permanent certification by N.Y.S. Education Department in the area of instruction required
PREFERED EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience working with or teaching diverse high school students
- Knowledge of effective classroom management and instructional techniques
- At least two years of experience working with low-income/first-generation college students required
DESIRED TEACHING FIELDS
- Math: Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus
- Other areas are currently full
DATES & HOURS
- 24-25 Saturdays (mid Sep - mid May)
- 8:30 am-noon
COMPENSATION
- $27/hr
