"The Visit" Technical Crew Application
Hopeful Crew Technicians,

Thank you for applying for a role on the tech crew for The Visit!  Because this is a shorter rehearsal schedule, we will be moving quickly. This, in addition to being a smaller technical show than other season productions, will mean that the selection process will be more limited and paramount participants are available everyday.

Below are the details for applying and participating, so please read this contract carefully so you know your responsibility. Your parents will be required to review and submit a similar agreement.


ELIGIBILITY: Students are required to keep grades passing. If you have 2 or more F's in any of their classes, you will be placed on probation and will be unable to participate in crew for a week. If they are out for more than one week, they may need to be replaced. I will encourage you on my end, as well. While the show is important, academic success is paramount.


CLOTHING: Each technician will be required to wear appropriate work clothes, per their role,  during any work call (Closed toed shoes, paint clothes, hair ties, no jewelry, no baggy clothes).


CONDUCT: Out of respect and safety for the cast, crew, and directors, any form of horse-play, loitering, or inappropriate use of the theater space/materials will not be tolerated.  Friends and family not partaking in the production are not allowed on stage, backstage, in the shops, or in the green room for their own safety.


SCHEDULE: Weekday crew calls start at 3:40 and end at 5:30PM. Technicians will take time to clean up trash, discarded materials or other mess that has been made during that call.  If a technician forgets to clean his/her mess, Mr. Ely reserves the right to hold the student’s dismissal until said mess is clean. A detailed calendar of which crew is to be called and when will be present on the callboard to the left of the theater classroom and uploaded to the Grandview Performing Arts webpage.
 

ACTIVITY FEE: Each crew member will be required to pay a $30.00 activity fee. You may pay via credit card on the Grandview webpage by clicking on the following link:

With the exception of tickets, this will be the only fee required by cast members. Ticket purchasing details are forthcoming. Assistance for activity fees may be available for families in financial crisis. Please let us know ASAP if this is the case.



ADDITIONAL INFO: Due to time constraints there will be Saturday calls in February.

A detailed calendar of which crew is to be called and when will be present on the callboard to the left of the
        theater classroom.  
Any missed tech crew calls without notification is reason for dismissal.  Any excessive absenteeism is
        reason for dismissal.
Every effort will be made to stick to the rehearsal schedule.  Adjustments may be needed as we go.
The Show Run Crew will be announced on February 7th. This crew will be backstage for the run of the
        show and is an earned position. The schedule for these students in the last two week prior two the show will
        shift into later evening rehearsals.

Thursday, February 17, 7:00PM (Cast Call 5:00 P.M.)
Friday, February 18, 7PM (Cast Call 5:00 P.M.)
Saturday February 19, 7PM (Cast Call 5:00 PM)
*Following Saturday performance, ALL CREW will be required to strike which will be followed by an all crew, cast, and pit after-party celebration.

All in all, we want this to be a fun-filled learning experience for everyone involved.  By working together I know we can build a wonderful technical program and continue a tradition of excellent theater at Grandview H.S!
