Please answer ALL of the questions below for each event in which you are bidding.

Please answer with NONE or N/A if not applicable.

Multiple bids may be submitted on one form if they are all being managed by the same organization.

Please refer to the 2022 USMS Rule Book section 307.3 for additional information regarding site selection for Long Distance national championships.

All completed bid forms must be submitted no later than August 1, 2022.
2024 Bid Rotation Information
From section 307.3.4 of the 2021 USMS Rule Book:
A three-area award system may be followed for the bidding of Open Water National Championships (see Appendix D for map and description of areas). In this system, suitable bids from a qualifying area shall receive preference over bids from other areas.

The 2024 bid rotation ("in-area") is:

EAST:
U.S. Masters Swimming Middle-Distance Open Water National Championship (>1 / ≤3 Miles)
U.S. Masters Swimming Ultramarathon-Distance Open Water National Championship (≥9 Miles)

CENTRAL:
U.S. Masters Swimming Sprint-Distance Open Water National Championship (1 Mile)
U.S. Masters Swimming Long-Distance Open Water National Championship (>3 / <6 Mile)
Multi-day Festival Option.

WEST:
U.S. Masters Swimming 2-Mile Cable Open Water National Championship
U.S. Masters Swimming Marathon-Distance Open Water National Championship (≥6 / <9 Miles)

For Cable Swim bids only: The sponsoring organization will provide surveyor’s proof of measurement of swim course and a description of the installation of turning points if the course is permanent. The course shall be certified by a licensed surveyor before initial use and every year if the turning points are not permanent. For permanent courses, certification data need only be filed once unless structural changes have occurred since the original certification. *

Note that a minimum of 1st-6th place awards for individuals and a minimum of 1st-3rd place awards for relay members in each age group are required for National Championship Events as stated in Rules 307.10.1 and 307.10.2 as found in the USMS Rule Book.

Our host organization has read article 307 in Section 3 of the 2022 USMS Rule Book and understands all aspects of that section, including our financial obligations for this National Championship. *
Our host organization understands that this bid will be circulated, discussed, and reviewed by the LDC and that the selection process will occur prior to the 2022 USMS Annual Convention. *

If you are bidding for more than one open water event, and including any ePostal events you may also be bidding on, please indicate your priority, i.e., 1, 2, 3…9, alongside the events you are bidding for.

Please indicate your interest in extending your bid possibility for the years 2025 and 2026, in addition to consideration for 2024. Indication of interest is no guarantee that bids will be extended, merely a helpful indication of interest in the event so that the LDC is able to form an ongoing pool of interested bidders. Please note that declining to extend your bid possibility for the years 2025 and 2026 will not be viewed unfavorably by the LDC nor preclude bids in future years.
