Interest Form: Cecilia Weston Spiritual Academy

PROGRAM TERM: JANUARY 13, 2024 - APRIL 20, 2024

Greetings,

My name is Jade T. Perry & I am a writer, speaker, & mystic! The mission of my work, as a whole, is to contribute resources, art, narratives, and experiential learning opportunities that aid in the holistic healing processes of Blackfolk, Queer & Trans people of color (QTPOC), and disabled / chronically ill folks within these communities.

Cecilia Weston is the name of my great-great-grandmother, who is known in family folklore to have been an astute tarot reader & folk medicine woman. While she likely identified as "Catholic," she practiced a variety of healing arts such as reading palms, tea leaves, & cards, laying hands, working roots, and more. One of the creative ways that Black women in her time could strive to create economic freedom was through hoodoo & conjure, although it was a precarious political position to practice openly.

This program is best for folks who are looking for deep connections within a cohort model, a rigorous yet interdisciplinary approach to their craft or practice, and folks who can set aside approx 3-4 hours per week to work through the course materials and / or attend live lessons & labs. There are THREE cohorts available to join. Anansi is tarot & mixed method divination specific, taught from a Black & QTPOC lens, & is meant for Beginners to Lifelong Learners. EarthWerk is meant for creatives, coaches, helping professionals, and spiritual practitioners who are at various points of formalizing & developing their work for the broader scope & for the marketplace. Crossroads is helpful for interdisciplinary diviners, spiritualists, and folks who want to go DEEP into their understandings of decolonial spirit theory and practice.  Each cohort has a practicum component. All Cecilia Weston Spiritual Academy programs span across 4 months.

This experience is meant to have multiple touchpoints with a variety of CWSA students. ALL CWSA Students & Cohort Members receive:

CHOOSING YOUR COHORT:
#1 ANANSI COHORT - Creative Divination, Tarot, & Folklore
From Beginner & Burgeoning Readers to Lifelong Learners

The "Anansi" cohort celebrates the ability to creatively problem-solve through the spiritual arts. This cohort is best for folks who desire to build a strong foundation & "root system" as a cartomancer & tarot reader. Anansi is a Black diasporic folk tale character - a Divine Trickster-Spider. Anansi is a shape-shifter, critical thinker, and "the holder of all of the Sky-God's stories". Anansi (an archetypal expression of the energy of Orisa & Divinity Echú / Exu / Exú) reminds burgeoning & long-term tarot readers to be creative, thoughtful, and flexible.
The curriculum covers:
- The Emerging One | Tarot Major Arcana & the Reader's Root System
- The Earth Explorer | Court Cards & Minors
- The Queen of Fire | Reading the Cards w/ Confidence & Style
- The World | Integrating your practice & Gaining broader experience

#2 EARTHWERK COLLECTIVE (For helping professionals, spiritualists, artists, and creatives across traditions)
The Earthwerk cohort follows the wisdom of Bre'er Rabbit, a Black American folkloric character, & their ability to make magick from the mundane! So, this is a cohort for folks who are building their craft and werk in helping, healing, coaching, wellness, & creative professions. We will focus on down-to-earth skills such as:

x. The EarthWerk Spiritualist: Skills & Competencies
x. Unearthing the MISSION of your Werk, Your Client Profile, & Stakeholders
x. Intuitive Booking: Pacing Yourself as a Practitioner
x. Easeful Website Werk: Creating a Smooth User Experience for You & Your Clients
x. Creating Strong Courses
x. Providing Client Care & Expanding Your Practitioner's Toolkit
x. Business Formation & Considerations 101
x. Legal Tune-Up w/ Erin F. Darden, Esq.

#3 CROSSROADS COHORT
For Interdisciplinary Spiritualists, Lifelong Learners, Decolonial Diviners, & Spiritual Theory Creators & Appreciators

The Crossroads is an important socio-spiritual location for Black folks across the Diaspora. The Crossroads are the places where Spirit meets flesh, where we make decisions on the directions we will go. It is the place of the interdisciplinary spiritualist & healing artist. Similar to Gloria Anzaldua's theory of the "nepantla", Crossroads cohort members navigate the "in-between" spaces - the marketplace, the healing space, the somatic / embodied, and the spiritual. If you are ready to experiment with building decolonial spiritual theory AND practice, this is the cohort for you!

The curriculum covers:
x. The purpose and power of the Crossroads
x. Establishing your root system
x. Working the theories of metaphors, shamanism, ecomythology, and autohistoria-teoria
x. Divination & Ancestral Work
x. Decolonizing Ideas of Truth & Time
x. Divination for Spiritual Activists and organizers

Past intensives have included topics such as:
x. Building Hybrid Spiritual Communities through Black Feminist & Disability Justice Praxis
x. Tarot & Astrology
x. Divination & Ancestral Work
x. Spiritual Activism
x. Co-werking Lab
