What are these write-ups about?
Create a few sentences about yourself that will be read out loud at the Grad Ceremony as you cross the stage. You can refer to the following:

Proudest achievement
•
Extracurricular activities (athletics, arts clubs, etc)
•
Summer plans
•
Eventual career goals
•
Post-secondary plans or goals
•
Aspirations in life
•
Unusual events/experiences/abilities that are noteworthy
•
Happiest moment at MD
•
“Thank you” comments to people
•
Words to live by…
Dos
•
Be succinct (275 characters or less)
•
Write in 3rd person
•
Be personal and creative
•
Use tone and content appropriate for the audience (parents, grandparents, teachers, community members, etc.)
Don’ts
•
No slang or inappropriate language
•
No “inside jokes” or use of initials (ex. I’d like to thank T.K and L.Z for….)
•
No references to parties, substances, or anything inappropriate or questionable
•
Nothing provocative, sexist, racist or would insult or hurt anyone
Remember that you are representing your grad class and helping to make the entire ceremony classy and memorable -- do your best!
