Peninsula Bridge Volunteer Information Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Peninsula Bridge!

Many of our talented 5th and 8th graders are interested in applying to independent schools, but they often face barriers. Peninsula Bridge is working closely with our students and our partner schools to support them in this process. The Middle School and High School Choice program at Peninsula Bridge includes 10 sessions of test prep provided by AJ Tutoring, a School Fair hosted at Menlo, writing workshops, a closed ISEE test site with all test fees waived, and financial aid support (Spanish/English).

As a mentor in the Middle School and High School Choice Program, you will act an an advocate and sounding board for your mentee and his/her family through the application process for independent schools. You will primarily focus on the life skills developed in the process (test taking, personal essay, interviewing skills, character development) and their implications for continued success in school.

We anticipate the time commitment to be approximately one meeting/touch point a week between September 2019 and January 2020. You will be able to set your own meeting times to fit your schedules. If you have any questions about the role and/or commitment, please reach out to Randi Shafton at Randi@peninsulabridge.org.
