HCWLU New Members' Application - Writing Team
Thank you for your interest in joining HCWLU as a writer for the Fall 2019 semester! Here is a description of the position:

- Writers will be responsible for writing at least one 450+ word article by a set deadline every week.

- Articles can be about any topic that will appeal to Laurier’s female population!

- Writers respond to Sarah McCann and Rebecca Courteau, HCWLU co-Presidents and Sophia Cole, Head Editor.

- As team members, writers are expected to attend weekly meetings (after class hours). As well, writers may be expected to attend occasional workshops to improve on their craft.

- The anticipated weekly time commitment for writers is at most 4 hours.

- No experience is required, but if you have some, we’d love to hear about it!

If you've written for our chapter before, you can give the link to your author page, or a specific article if you'd like; alternatively, you may submit a new article if you'd prefer. If you haven't written for us before, or wish to submit a new article, please write your sample in Google Docs and give us the link to it. Make sure you have the permissions set accordingly, and proofread your work!
Would you like to be considered for the Entertainment Writer position? *
Entertainment Writers will work with different deadlines and timelines to ensure that their articles are still relevant when they go live. They will write about new movies or TV shows, celebrity gossip, awards shows, etc. If you apply and do not get this position, you will still be in consideration for a general writer position.
