What ministries affect you or are you involved with? (e.g. confirmation, care givers, etc.)
What would you like to see at St. James Lutheran? The Bible teaches a high view of what the Church is. We’re not merely a `religious club’ and our building is not a club house. The Bible says that the Church is the people who really believe in Him, and that we are Christ’s body, that we are His priests, that He is the bridegroom and we are His beloved bride (think of “the two becoming one” –we have communion with Jesus). One implication of this is that we don’t do work for Jesus, as though we’re separate from Him, rather, we join with Him in what He’s doing, on His mission of restoring and renewing the world. Every day we are to join with Jesus and “change lives with the love of God to the glory of God” (which is St. James Lutheran’s mission statement).
That being so, what is God helping you to see regarding where we are doing well at changing lives with Jesus’ love, or regarding where we could be doing better?
What are the needs in our community?
How could your church have a greater impact on your community?
What do you and your family need from your church?
How could your church do a better job specifically of reaching out to those who don’t yet know Jesus and the gospel?
How could you see yourself serving through your church?
What does the future of our church look like if it were the best it could be?
